incorporating the Loddon Murray Community Leadership Program

2010 LMCLP Graduation Evening
Friday 12 November 2010 at Big Hill Winery

The 2010 LMCLP program year finished in style with a lovely evening at the Big Hill Vineyard just south of Bendigo on Friday 12 November.

More than 80 people including participants, family and friends, CLLM sponsors and supporters, and LMCLP graduates attended the evening which was coordinated by the participants themselves who did an outstanding job.

Linda Beilharz A feature of the evening was guest speaker Linda Beilharz, the first Australian woman to trek to the North Pole. Linda’s story of setting a goal and then taking small steps - and celebrating each of these along the way – resonated with many in the room, although there didn’t seem to be many who wanted to follow in Linda’s footsteps after hearing about her experiences of trekking in some very trying conditions in some very trying terrain!

Linda spoke about “not all who wander are lost” and explained that to wander is to take on a challenge that most don’t, to step outside the normal path and follow a hunch or a passion, to push yourself to achieve your goal, confront things that make you scared, and to trust your own strength. She finished by saying “For me wandering - following my heart, taking opportunities after having done the preparation – has led me to one of the most fulfilling experiences.”

2010 Year Book Launched

The Graduation evening was also an opportunity to launch the 2010 LMCLP Year Book, proudly sponsored by mecu Limited, and to congratulate the hardworking sub-committee of participants who gathered the information and turned this into a record of the year that will not only enable the participants to fondly remember their journey, but for all of us to see once again the amazing outcomes Community Leadership Loddon Murray and the Loddon Murray Community eadership Program continue to achieve across Central and north-west Victoria.
