Our graduate program has two main elements:

  1. SkillsBank - graduates are able to contribute their skills to not-for-profit organisations in a variety of ways

  2. Annual calendar of events and activities - designed to continue to grow the skills, knowledge, networks and capacity of our graduates as community leaders.

SkillsBank

LMCLP SkillsBank commenced in August 2005 and has been made possible with funding from the Department of Planning and Community Development's Community Support Fund.

The aim of SkillsBank is to provide opportunities for graduates of the LMCLP to continue their personal and leadership development post-program year. There are now more than 250 graduates of the LMCLP with a variety of backgrounds that can contribute in leadership opportunities within their own communities.

Through SkillsBank, graduates are able to contribute their skills to not-for-profit organisations in a variety of ways including, but not limited to, facilitation, motivational speaking opportunities, strategic planning and restoring community building. Many not-for-profit organisations require the perspective of an outsider, or a new set of skills to help remain a productive, vital and relevant part of their local community.

PURPOSE OF SKILLSBANK:

To develop relationships with present and past graduates to ensure they maintain positive, lifelong relations with the LMCLP and their communities

CORE VALUES:

SkillsBank graduates and partners agree to:

  • Add value to not for profit community organisations

  • Share information

  • Understand the mandate for all partners

  • Respect the value and diversity of volunteer contributions

  • Embrace change and innovation
