Loddon Murray Community Leadership Program (LMCLP)

The Loddon Murray Community Leadership Program (LMCLP) aims to develop community leadership in and beyond the North Central region of Victoria  through the provision of a broad based community leadership program that encompasses social, cultural, environmental, economical and technological aspects of our region.

Since its inception in 1998 the Loddon Murray Community Leadership Program Inc (LMCLP) has inspired and assisted hundreds of people from all walks of life to make a significant difference in their local communities and the wider region.

The Program helps participants build leadership skills, explores the major issues facing the Loddon north central region or Victoria, and facilitates positive change.

The outcomes of the leadership program have been:

bullet

ongoing and/or increased leadership by participants in their community

bullet

new and expanded regional networking and cooperation

bullet

provision of forums for regional discussion through community open forums

bullet

raised awareness of the region's value and importance to the economy

bulletnew community initiatives implemented by participants through the program and beyond

In addition to the annual leadership program, LMCLP also coordinates a program for graduates comprising a mix of networking dinners, forums and workshops to continue to grow and develop their leadership skills and operates a SkillsBank.  As the name suggests, this is a bank of skills (those of our graduates) which we make available to community/not-for-profit organisations to help them with a project at no charge.

In 2009, we will be launching a new community stream where staff and graduates of LMCLP will work with organisations on targeted projects to grow and build community leadership skills across the region.
